The 15th Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and related meetings with the regional grouping’s dialogue partners was held in Cha-am and Hua Hin in Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan provinces south of Bangkok during 23- 25 October.

Preparations to ASEAN Summit in Hua Hin
At Naresdamri Auditorium, Capt. Supphasit Burana-Osot with Capt. Thitiwat Sakul-Eua Kitti and Capt. Thochirat Phukthongchuai held a meeting for marine entrepreneurs in Hua Hin municipality. The meeting was also attended by chiefs of government sections in the area, Mr. Jira Phongphaiboon, Hua Hin Mayor, deputy mayors, community representatives and fishery entrepreneurs.

Flood prevention in Hua Hin Municipal Area & Klaikangwon Palace
There was a big flood during October 14-16, 1999 in Hua Hin Subdistrict Municipal area and Klaikangwon Palace, due to bad draining system. HM. the King has order Mr. Dissathorn Watchrothai, Director of Royal Private Affairs and Mr. Wisan Maitriyuenyong, senior engineer of Irrigation Department to work together with Hua Hin Municipality on a flood prevention project for Hua Hin and Klaikangwon Palace areas.

RICD Wheelchair Project
On Wednesday 21st of October 2009, the coordinator for people with disability in Prachuabkirikhan province, Khun Jaruek Soojaritchan, presented a wheelchair to Miss Sunari (21 yrs). Miss Sunari is unable to walk due to an accident at her birth; as a consequence she is bedridden since then.

Halloween Party at Hua Hin Market Village
Hua Hin Market Village Shopping Center will hold Halloween Party for welcoming the incoming Halloween festival in October 31st, 2009, 17:00 – 20:00, in front of the Shopping center. The high-lighted activity will be “Beautiful Disgusting Ghosts Contest”, - all contestants must dress in ghost costumes which are both pretty and scary.

On the 72nd Anniversary of Hua Hin Municipality At Naresdamri Auditorium Hua Hin Mayor Mr. Jira Phongphaiboon, Mr. Athikun Bootying, Ph.D. Rungruang Siluangsawat, deputy mayors, second lieutenant Amnuay Thaiyanon, consultant to mayor and Hua Hin City Municipality Officers have donated blood for donors blood banks at Hua Hin Hospital and Hua Hin Red Cross.

Train derails near Hua Hin
A passenger train bound for Bangkok from Trang has derailed at Khao Tao, 14km south of Hua Hin, killing seven people and injuring dozens more. Injured passengers had been rushed to hospitals in Prachaupkhirikhan province. All of those killed were thought to be Thais.

Car Race Rally and 100 trees for 100 years of Hua Hin event
On 3rd October 2009 at Khao Hin Lek Fai, Hua Hin, Prachuap Khirikhan, Mr. Jira Phongphaiboon, Hua Hin Mayor, has presided over the opening ceremony of the 100 trees for 100 years of Hua Hin event.
