Royal Thai Army (RTA) hosts ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet
The Royal Thai Army (RTA) hosts ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM 2007) from 9-23 November 2007 at Infantry Center Fort Thanarat Camp, Pranburi District, Prachuab Khiri Khan province. This event marks the third time for RTA is the host and there are ten participating member countries and including Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand, Philipines, Singaore, Cambodia, Burma, Laos, and Vietnam.
The objective of AARM is to enhance the relationships among ASEAN Armies at all levels which will lead to the solidifying of security and a stability of the region.
RTA not only hosts AARM 2007 but also hosts ASEAN Chiefs of Armies Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM 8 ) From 19-22 November 2007 at Dusit Resort, Petchaburi province.
This mutual Asean’s Armies activities would enhance close relationship and cooperation within the nation and a Amrmy. Furthermore, it is a good opportunity for Commander-in-Chief to exchange point of view in order to strengthen the cooperation among Asean’s Armies, so that it can positively contribute to regional security.
This morning at 08.30am Deputy Commanding General of Royal Thai Army General Weeravit Ku-sam-ran has open Asean Armies Rifle Meet Thailand, In his speech he said 'beloved and most respected ASEAN Chiefs of Armies and all participating ASEAN Armies shooting teams, the Royal Thai Army is pleased and honored to have been given the trust and confidence to host the 17 th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet or AARM 2007 and the 8 th ASEAN Chiefs of Armies Multilateral Meeting for the year 2007.
AARM 2007 in which the Royal Thai Army is proud to host signifies the solidarity of the ASEAN spirit. This year’s even is organized at the fFort Dhanarat, Infantry Center in Pranburi District ,Prachuab Khiri Khan province.
The purposed of the ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet are to enhance and strengthen the strong bond of relationship and all participating members at all level, increase understanding, promote positive outlook and simultaneously , learn and exchange customs, traditions and cultures in which winning the meet is not an importance.
I am confident that all of you will take this opportunity of being together to display not only your skills, but to also exhibit the spirit of good will and cooperation to further promote our unity and solidarity so that we all can fulfill our established objectives similar to all the other Meet that we have conducted so far over the years.
Lastly I do hope that all of you will be satisfied and comfortable through our your stay in Thailand. And may I take this opportunity to wish all of you the very success in the 17” ASEAN Rifle Meet'.
