Hua Hin Expats
Hua Hin is Thailand's oldest beach town resort. Situated on the west coast of the Gulf of Thailand, only 200 kilometers from the capital, Bangkok. Following the international trend for recuperative spa resorts in1920's, Hua Hin became a popular retreat for Thai Royal Family, Bangkok's high society, and affluent foreigners. Although Hua Hin's fortunes declined after WW II, its historical connections have helped it become popular again with a new generation of Bangkokians and now also with expats.
Hua Hin is home to over 3500 expats living in and around Hua Hin. The biggest expat groups are from UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Holland and US. More expats are in the process of relocation or are exploring possibility of starting new life in Hua Hin. Many of them live in small housing developments in and around Hua Hin. To date, there are more than 50 developments and more are build each year. Other expats have decided buy apartments in condominiums located on Hua Hin beach.
